WA State CCL Opposes Initiative 2117

Initiative 2117, which will appear on the November 2024 state ballot would repeal the state's Climate Commitment Act (CCA). The CCA is a major step forward in addressing the damaging impact of climate change on our state. Washington State Citizens’ Climate Lobby strongly supports the price on carbon emissions established in the CCA as one of the most effective ways to unleash innovation across Washington to reduce emissions and reduce the impact of climate change on our state. Learn more about the benefits of the Climate Commitment Act. The State of Washington also has information on the Climate Commitment Act at https://climate.wa.gov/.
